A school art teacher faced arrest after police caught him allegedly distributing drugs in front of the school where he worked in the Thissamaharama–Pustholamulla area, police confirmed.
Police officers launched the operation following intelligence received by the Tangalle Division Anti-Corruption Unit. Investigators linked the suspects to an organised drug distribution network allegedly operated under a notorious trafficker known as “Kalumalli,” the brother of a well-known drug dealer called “Dehibala.”

After taking the teacher into custody, officers raided his residence in the Wilamulla area. During the search, police arrested two additional suspects and recovered 102 grams of “Ice” and 50 grams of heroin from the house.
Investigation Continues Into Drug Network.

Police continue investigations to uncover the wider network connected to the suspects and to identify additional individuals involved in the illegal drug trade in the region.
Authorities stressed that they will intensify operations against narcotics distribution, especially near schools and public institutions, in order to protect students and local communities from the growing drug threat.
