இலங்கை ஜனாதிபதி அநுர குமார திஸாநாயக்க அமெரிக்க டொலரின் பெறுமதி இலங்கை ரூபாயுடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் உயர்ந்துள்ளமை நாட்டின் பொருளாதாரத்தில் கடுமையான தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளதாக தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
“முழு நாடும் ஒன்றாக” என்ற தேசிய வேலைத்திட்டத்தின் கீழ் மே 20ஆம் திகதி மட்டக்களப்பில் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்வில் கலந்து கொண்டபோது அவர் இந்தக் கருத்துக்களை வெளியிட்டார்

மேலும், இந்த ஆண்டு சுற்றுலாப் பயணிகளின் வருகை குறைந்துள்ளமை தொடர்பாக ஜனாதிபதி கவலை தெரிவித்ததுடன், நாட்டின் பொருளாதாரத்திற்கு அது கூடுதல் அழுத்தத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளதாகவும் குறிப்பிட்டார்.
இந்த ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் மாதத்தில் கடந்த ஆண்டின் அதே காலத்துடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் இலங்கையின் சுற்றுலாத்துறை 29 சதவீத வீழ்ச்சியை பதிவு செய்துள்ளதாக ஜனாதிபதி அநுர குமார திஸாநாயக்க தெரிவித்தார். வெளிநாட்டு வேலைவாய்ப்புகளில் உள்ள இலங்கையர்களின் பண அனுப்புதல்கள் வீழ்ச்சியடைந்துள்ளதாக அவர் தெரிவித்ததுடன், இது நாட்டின் நிதிநிலைக்கு கூடுதல் சுமையை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளதாகவும் கூறினார்

He President pointed out that the government now has to spend a significantly larger amount on fuel imports due to the rise of the US dollar against the Sri Lankan rupee. effort to reduce the growing burden of fuel import expenses, he urged the public to avoid unnecessary fuel consumption and use fuel more efficiently as a short-term measure.
He also called on citizens to cooperate with the government to prevent a possible dollar shortage in the country. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake further emphasized that public support and responsible economic practices remain essential to maintaining economic stability and protecting Sri Lanka from further financial difficulties.
