Road renovation work on Adiyapatham Road at the Thirunelveli Junction will begin on Monday, June 1, 2026. Authorities will convert a section of the road from Thirunelveli Junction towards the Thirunelveli Market into a one-way route on Tuesday, June 2, and Wednesday, June 3.
P. Mayooran, Chairman of the Nallur Pradeshiya Sabha, announced that vehicles will not enter the road from the Thirunelveli Junction towards the market side during the two-day period. He expressed regret over the inconvenience and urged motorists to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion in the area.
Authorities Request Cooperation From Traders and Public.

Mayooran stated that the renovation work may create heavy traffic congestion around the busy commercial zone. He requested business owners and traders along the road to avoid unloading goods from vehicles during daytime hours.
Instead, he encouraged traders to carry out loading and unloading activities at night to reduce traffic pressure and support the smooth progress of the road development work.
Renovation Work Aims to Improve Traffic Flow.

The Nallur Pradeshiya Sabha launched the road reconstruction project to improve transportation facilities and ensure safer travel conditions for the public. Authorities expect temporary traffic restrictions during the renovation period.
Mayooran also called on residents, motorists, and traders to provide full cooperation and avoid causing disruptions to the ongoing construction activities. He emphasized that public support would help officials complete the project efficiently and minimize inconvenience to daily commuters and businesses in the area.
