When the officers arrived, they encountered a highly aggressive situation. The suspect held two knives, one in each hand, and advanced toward the officers in a threatening manner. One officer reacted quickly and kicked the attacker to push him back, attempting to control the immediate danger. Despite this intervention, the man continued his attack and rushed again toward the police officers while still armed.

Facing an immediate threat, the officer made a split-second decision and used his service weapon, firing at least two shots into the man’s abdominal area. The suspect sustained critical injuries and collapsed at the scene. Emergency medical teams provided urgent treatment, but he died despite resuscitation efforts.
Authorities also treated the two neighbors who suffered stab wounds during the initial confrontation. Medical teams continue to monitor their condition.
Investigation begins.

The Bobigny public prosecutor’s office launched a formal investigation to examine the circumstances of the incident, including the use of lethal force by the police and the sequence of events leading to the confrontation. Investigators plan to review witness statements, forensic evidence, and body camera footage to determine how the situation escalated so rapidly and whether the response followed protocol. The case has drawn public attention and raised questions about police use of force in high-risk interventions in residential areas.
