Police arrested two main suspects in connection with a massive robbery involving Rs. 115 million from a house in the Kommanthurai area of Valvettithurai, Jaffna.
Investigators revealed that the suspects broke into the house during daytime on May 27 while no one remained inside the residence. The two individuals reportedly entered the house after damaging the chimney structure and searched the property before escaping with the cash.
Police Identify Suspects Through CCTV Footage.

Valvettithurai Police launched an investigation immediately after receiving the complaint. Officers carefully examined CCTV footage from nearby locations and identified the suspects within a short period.
Police arrested a 16-year-old boy from Kerudavil and a 19-year-old youth during separate operations. Officers captured one suspect near Vallai Junction and the other in the Ariyakulam area of Jaffna.During questioning, investigators discovered that the suspects contacted a man from Nedunkeni through a video call after entering the house. They allegedly informed him about the large amount of cash stored inside the residence.
Cash Hidden in Land at Nedunkeni.

According to police investigations, the man from Nedunkeni instructed the suspects to bring all the money to him. The suspects later transported the stolen cash to Nedunkeni and buried it in a piece of land. Police arrested the two suspects while they returned to Jaffna after hiding the money. Officers recovered Rs. 74 million from the suspects following further investigations.
Meanwhile, the main suspect from Nedunkeni escaped before police could arrest him. Valvettithurai Police continue operations to locate and apprehend the fugitive suspect.
