The department also notes that weather conditions will remain highly changeable in the western slopes of the central hills. Rain may develop suddenly in several regions and intensify within short periods, leading to rapidly changing weather patterns across the country.

The Department of Meteorology has announced that strong winds of around 30–40 km/h may affect the Northern, North Central, North Western, and Southern provinces, as well as the Trincomalee district.
