Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has filed a petition before the Court of Appeal seeking an order to prevent his arrest under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in connection with ongoing investigations into the Easter Sunday terror attacks.
Attorney-at-Law Sanath Wijewardena submitted the petition on his behalf. The petition names the Inspector General of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director Shani Abeysekara, and CID officer Madhawa Gunawardena as respondents.
